Competition Guidelines

PAPER FORMAT FOR SUBMISSION FOR REVIEW

Title Page. The first page of the paper shall be the title page which shall include the project title, full name of the participant(s), name of department, name of institution of higher learning, year of study, and name of the staff member who served as project supervisor/advisor for the research work/project. Also, at the bottom of the title page, a signature block containing the signature of the participant(s), project supervisor (department head if there is no project supervisor) and the date of signing.

Summary Executive Page. The executive summary shall provide an overview of the research work/project undertaken, its relevance to the marine industry and the summary of results/findings. The executive summary shall not exceed one A4-sized page.

Structure of Paper. The main body/contents of the paper will not be required to follow any specific outline or structure. Presentation, however, shall follow a logical pattern and conform to good professional paper or technical writing standards.

Length of Paper. The paper shall not exceed 20 A4-sized single-sided pages (including title page, summary executive page and any annexes/appendices). The paper should be word-processed with single-spaced paragraphs. The font type and size to be used shall be Times New Romans or Arial and 12 points respectively.
