Competition Format

 
A. CATEGORISATION OF PARTICIPANTS :

• In order to create a level playing field for all participants in view of their diverse educational background and industrial maturity, the competition is divided
  into three categories, namely : DIPLOMA, UNDERGRADUATE and POST-GRADUATE (Masters / PhD).

• The competition is however opened to all students, whether in group or individual efforts, from any engineering discipline of study so long as there are
  marine and offshore technology applications (naval architecture, marine engineering, underwater technology and coastal engineering) in the research
  work/project undertaken.

• The competition consists of two stages : Review of Papers and Oral Presentation. The Review of Papers is the preliminary phase of the competition
  whereby a panel of judges will read and evaluate the papers submitted by the participants to shortlist the top three (3) papers in each category. The
  panel of judges, which will be appointed by the Joint Branch of RINA & IMarEST (Singapore), will be formed by marine technology professionals from
  the industry and academia with vast experience and contribution in the field. The authors of the top three papers from each category will be invited to
  participate in the Oral Presentation before an audience of students, academics and industry partners on 20 Jun 2006 at the Civil Service College,
  Singapore.
